Four Nations Tournament - Men -


Germany's first international hockey stadium - the Warsteiner HockeyPark - will be opened with a Four Nation Tournament. The competition will have top class international participation and it also is the final test for the men's BDO Hockey World Cup 2006, which will take place at the same venue in Mönchen-gladbach five months later. Apart from Germany the participating teams are the continental champions Argentina, India and Spain. From 15 - 17 April 2006 hockey fans can experience world class sport and an attractive supporting programme in the world’s most modern hockey stadium.



GERMANY WINS TOURNAMENT

The first international tournament in the newly opened national hockey venue WARSTEINER HockeyPark, which also will be the venue for next hockey world cup in september 2006, could be won by the german host.

Fifth match: Argentina - India 2 : 3 (0:3)

Asia's champion India won in a predominant match against Argentina 3:2 (3:0). A strong first half was enough for their victory. India is now on the third rank on the table, Argentina finished the tournament on rank four....

European champion Spain won the second match at the four Nations tournament in Moenchengladbach. The Spanish team beat the Indians with 5:3 (2:0). They now lead the table just after Germany. The game between the European champion and the world champion on monday will determinate the winner of the tournament....

World champion Germany won his first match of the four Nations tournament in front of 4.000 spectators against record Olympic champion India 4:1(1:1). Matchwinner of this game in the Warsteiner HockeyPark was Christopher Zeller, Germany´s player of the year 2005. He managed to score three goals to their deserved victory....

Hockey festival shall become a party for the family

Easter special 5 €:

The German Hockey Association has introduced a special feature for Easter. Special offer for children and teenagers. All visitors between 7 and 18 years of age pay 5 € (plus 15% booking fee) for the entry and can chose their seats either on the grandstands or behind the goals. These tickets are available only at the ticket counter in the Warsteiner HockeyPark prior to the event or at the box offices during the tournament. There will be also an Easter special in cooperation with the sponsor Masterfood: Two Easter bunnies will be walking around the venue handing out sweets on all three days.



Tournament with focus on the BDO Hockey World Cup

Some players will be missing

Due to their success in the continental Championships, the three visiting teams Argentina, India and Spain are already qualified for the BDO Hockey World Cup in September. The teams will use this opportunity to have a look at the World Cup venue. India and Argentina have announced that they will bring all their star players to Mönchengladbach.
Due to a parallel engagement, some German players won’t be able to participate. Tibor Weißenborn (Bloemendaal), Oliver Markowsky (Club de Campo Madrid) and the players from "Der Club an der Alster” are participating in the Eurohockey Cup Winners Cup 2006 in Reading (ENG).
For the same reason Spain's coach Mauritz Hendriks will have to do without his players from Madrid.

Tickets for the Four Nation Tournament can be reserved with immediate effect via DHB ticket partner "ticketonline".
Each of the four teams shall be playing a match everyday, so that visitors get to see the star players on each day of the tournament.
The price for the tickets on Saturday include access to the official opening ceremony of the Warsteiner HockeyPark, which also contains a top act of the supporting programme.
