Netherlands showed a demonstration of strenghs
21th of August, Gant EHC, Men: Netherlands – France 8:1 (4:0)
21.08.2011 - In the second match of group B this Sunday, the joint favourite from Netherlands did not give the French a chance with an unflappable display of 8:1 (4:0). The team of coach Paul van Ass took the lead in the overall ranking against European champions England, who had previously prevailed 4:2 against Ireland.
In a one-sided from the start game, the Dutchmen played quick passing hockey demonstrations combined with good pressing. Taeke Taekema via penalty corner, Tim Jenniskens with a nice backhand shot, Roderick Weusthoff and Floris Evers struck a rebound to break forth a clear 4:0. Even after the halftime break the 2007 European champion was the dominant team and quickly scored beautifully goals from Evers and van der Horst.
After, Jean-Baptiste Pauchet France sank a cross from Fabien Magner in the clean slides for consolation goal. It was then reserved for the Dutch, to achieve the last two goals: First, converted Taekema another corner in the right angle, then Evers made his third goal with a fine individual performance for the 8:1 final score.
